Shock the Monkey
Another entertainment piece we enjoy in 2006: the situational comedy, Love Monkey. We haven’t missed a single episode thanks to DV-R. This great new show that first aired on CBS January 16th stars Tom Cavanaugh and Jason Priestley, plus many more great actors and cameo appearances by several great musicians. It also features the character “Wayne” who is actually real life singer and songwriter, Teddy Geiger. He sounds a lot like John Mayer, and his tunes that are out there now are quite appealing (to those of us stuck in the pathetic pit of popular music fans anyway). I was victim to downloading his first single (“For You I Will”) from iTunes last night. Apparently, he’s not releasing his full album until March 21, 2006. Pretty clever to put a young rising talent in a sitcom though, don’tcha think? Reality and non-reality television collide. Dale is a huge fan of 90210, music, and comedy, so Love Monkey is a great fit. And this Tuesday, Tom Farrell (Cavanaugh) sported the same ND sweatshirt that Dale owns, so just another reason to dig the show. Does it really get any better than that?
Unfortunately, the real life ND men’s hoops team hasn’t been nearly as hot on our television set, having lost their eight Big East games by a combined 26 points. The Big East though, c’mon ya’ll. It’s a ridiculous conference filled with basketball powerhouses. Everyone is struggling. I wonder how Air Force would fare. Guess we’ll find out in the NCAA tournament (keep your fingers crossed). Unfortunately, Air Force has been struggling of late too. On the other hand, the women are on the rise. Very, very cool to see them winning.
Renae out …
