Go Bears

Just checking news this a.m. and looks like my Golden Bears of Billings West High beat up on our cross-town rival Senior High Broncs in football last night. No. 1 West won 35-12 and will go onto to play in the state championship next Friday. Go Bears.

While I was in high school, West football was respectable but could never reach the top. It is nice to see them finally going after a third state title since 1997. Since basketball season goes the same time as football in Montana, seems like I didn’t catch as many football games with friends as I would’ve liked. I do remember several times where we went straight from practice at the gym to Daylis stadium to catch some of those Friday night games. Ah, those high school memories ...

Hopefully the West girls’ basketball team can do some good damage this season again and capture their fourth state championship in 4 years. Go Bears.
