Like Michigan football helmets ...
Yes, ND won again last weekend, but it being a late game prevented me from making a blog. So they are 4-1 and play undefeated (as of today) USC next Saturday in primetime on ESPN HD. Gameday will be there. Kirk Herbstreet has jumped on the bandwagon and rumor has it, called them “his Irish.” Of course we have Lou too, but we know about the rest of them.
At any rate, tonight let me move on to a different topic because I feel like venting some of my pet peeves (maybe it will help me better deal with them). How about my top five? These are just a few things that I am sure most of us have to deal with about every day. Nevertheless, like University of Michigan football helmets, they still annoy me …
1. Poor cell phone etiquette. Did you know July is cell phone etiquette month? I wish it were July every month. People are OUT OF CONTROL with their cell phones. Dale probably gets sick of me complaining about them. People just need to practice better etiquette, that’s all. Nevertheless, personally, I think they should be banned while driving and in gyms and libraries. Oh yeah, and more than once I have heard women talking on the cell phone in the bathroom stall … c’mon. I came across a great article from Microsoft. It says it all. We should all listen and learn. What did we do without cell phones?
2. Bad drivers. No doubt you will come across one every day. They are the ones you have to pass on the right. The ones who do not know where they are going. I am sure we have all been one of these ourselves. The real bad ones need to stay off the road.
3. “What, no hello?”. Like passing corvette owners, we should all give some sort of “hello” in passing. You know, where it’s one on one walking down the hallway or running on the trail. At the minimum, acknowledge the person by making eye contact. No matter what age you are or who you are. Traveling with your eyes staring at the floor is a bad habit.
4. Loud music. This one just means I am getting old.
5. Spinners and big rims. So does this one.
